Intersection points

Drag any point in the plan view to move it. A next to cant or transition means the value is set automatically from the radius and design speed — clear the box to re-enable it, or type a value to fix it by hand.

Vertical intersection points

Give either a curve length L or a radius Rv — whichever you leave blank is derived from the other.

Paste or load chainage, level rows to show the ground line and cut/fill in the profile.

Roads, other railways and watercourses are found by looking up the real world around the alignment, then comparing rail level against the ground at each intersection. That needs the following first.

Corridor features

Roads, railways and watercourses within the corridor, from OpenStreetMap. Coverage of minor roads and field drains is patchy in places, so treat this as a first pass rather than a survey.

Crossing schedule

Each place the alignment meets something, and what it takes to get past. The engine proposes a type; anything you change by hand is kept and re-applied when the schedule is recomputed.

Abstract of cost

Priced on the Indian Railway plan heads. Quantities are read from the design — earthwork from the structures pass, bridges from the crossing schedule, loops and platforms from the station schedule — so the estimate cannot drift from the drawing. The rates are indicative round figures, not a schedule of rates. Set them to the rates of your division and year before the total means anything.

Stations & Yard Layouts

Station CSBs (Centre of Station Building) placed near habitable areas, with a halt inserted wherever the block section would otherwise run long. The thresholds this works to — block section length, loop CSL, who is worth a station — are the ones set on the Inclusion and Stations tabs of the Considerations panel, so this panel does not restate them and cannot fall out of step with them.
